Here Comes that Boy Again …

22 10 2011

Screening 23 October 2011

When Ferris decides to take the day off school, it’s no regular bunk-off. It involves the mighty scam of getting  the entire school believing he’s on the verge of death, persuading his friend Cameron that they have to borrow his dad’s Ferrari, breaking out their best friend Sloane out of school It’s all great – until it starts to go spectacularly wrong. Desperately trying to outplot Ferris are his sister – more than fed up that their parents believe Ferris to bean angel – and the school’s dean of students, Ed Rooney. Both want Ferris to get the come uppance they know he deserves, but it’s part of this film’s enduring appeal that no matter how old (and supposedly responsible) you become, you’re always on the side of Ferris.

Another John Hughes classic which wears its 25 years well – yep – Ferris Bueller’s Day Off  has hit its quarter century!
